UK Finance and CFTE | Building AI Capability Across UK Financial Services

New AI capability initiative

UK Finance and CFTE launch AI programmes for the financial sector.

Created for banking leaders and functional departments.

AI capability is becoming a priority for the whole financial sector. UK Finance, representing 300 firms across the UK banking and finance industry, has launched a new AI capability initiative in collaboration with CFTE.

Why this matters

AI is no longer only a technology topic, or something left to scattered experimentation.

AI is becoming part of how financial-services professionals lead, decide, serve customers, manage risk, strengthen controls and improve operations.

For professionals, the question is practical: how to use AI effectively in the job, produce better work, improve day-to-day performance and build the skills now expected in financial services.

For senior leaders, the question is strategic: how to use AI to make better decisions, guide the organisation, ask sharper questions, identify opportunities and risks, and lead adoption with confidence.

That is the purpose of this initiative.

For other markets, financial centres and industry bodies, it offers a useful example of how AI capability can be developed not only within individual institutions, but across the sector.
