It brings together expert perspectives across digital banking, AI, open banking, payments, regtech and digital assets so that participants can understand how the main changes in finance fit together. Rather than treating each topic in isolation, the programme helps learners connect technologies, business models and market structure shifts into a practical picture of digital transformation in finance.

Curriculum

Fintech Foundation
Week 1
The origins and driving forces of the Fintech revolution. How the 2008 financial crisis, the rise of mobile technology and regulatory change created the conditions for fintech. The two waves of fintech development: unbundling incumbents, then rebundling. The fintech ecosystem mapped: startups, incumbent banks, big tech, regulators and investors — and how they interact.
Artificial Intelligence in Finance
Week 2
How AI is transforming financial services. Applications in fraud detection, regulatory compliance, credit scoring and transaction monitoring. Machine learning, NLP and recommendation engines applied to investment decisions and market predictions. How digital banking leaders and regulators are deploying AI — and the skills finance professionals need to work effectively alongside it.
Open Banking
Week 3
The regulatory and commercial frameworks reshaping data sharing in finance. Open Banking API standards, PSD2 and the shift toward open finance. Platform business models, embedded finance and Banking-as-a-Service. How institutions like Plaid, Yolt and major banks are building data-sharing ecosystems — and what this means for competition, customer experience and financial inclusion.
Payments
Week 4
The infrastructure, economics and innovation reshaping global payments. Real-time payments, cross-border settlements, BNPL and digital wallets. How blockchain-based payments and digital currencies are entering the mainstream. Case studies from Mastercard, Stripe and emerging challengers. The regulatory landscape for payments — and the strategic implications for financial institutions.
RegTech
Week 5
How technology is transforming regulatory compliance and supervision. AI-powered compliance monitoring, automated reporting and risk management. The RegTech landscape: key players, use cases and adoption patterns across financial institutions. How regulators are using technology themselves — SupTech — and what this means for the relationship between institutions and supervisors.
Digital Assets
Week 6
The foundations of blockchain and digital assets. Cryptocurrencies, stablecoins and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). DeFi: decentralised finance protocols and their implications for traditional financial services. NFTs and tokenisation of real-world assets. Case studies from Ripple, major central banks and global financial institutions pioneering digital asset adoption.
